- There are too many file recovery programs exist that can help recover your accidentally deleted files. These file recovery programs can help you "undelete" files on your computer. Basically, you must rescue your files before it get overwritten with another data. Files you have deleted and then recently emptied from your Recycle Bin are often still present on your hard drive or any storage device you have, and can be recovered using some file recovery software. The good thing is there are too much free stuff lying around the internet. You only have to Google your way through it to find one though. Just like everything else, i Googled those for you too. You can greatly increase the chance of recovering a file by minimizing your computer use as soon as possible, say saving stuff after deleting a file by accident. You can undelete files you thought were gone with these free goodie pc apps.

very easy to use but has many optional advanced features as well.
Recuva can recover files from hard drives, external drives (USB drives, etc.), BD/DVD/CD discs, and memory cards. Recuva can even undelete files from your iDevices as well. How cool is that?
Recuva will undelete files in Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP, Server 2008/2003, and older Windows versions like 2000, NT, ME and 98. Recuva is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.
Their site, Pirifom.com, provides both an installer and a portable Recuva versions.

- UNDELETE 360
This one is a free version of a commercial product, and so leaves out some useful features like file filtering, previews and other stuff. These still appear in the interface, though, and suggest you upgrade if you ever click on them, which can be pretty annoying.
There are no restrictions on the amount or size of the files you can recover, though, and otherwise the program is very simple to use: point it at a drive, it'll scan for deleted files, then you can view particular file types (JPGs, PDFs, videos and more) by choosing them from a tree.
Scanning speed isn't great, but Undelete 360 can recover files that other programs miss , and so it's definitely worth considering.

- PURAN FILE RECOVERY
Puran File Recovery is pretty easy to use, and will scan any drive that Windows sees, and has a lot of advanced options if you need them.
One particular thing to note - Puran File Recovery identified more files on my test machine than most other tools so be sure to give this one a shot in addition to Recuva if it didn't find what you were looking for.
Puran File Recovery will even recover lost partitions if they haven't been overwritten yet.
Puran File Recovery does require installation. Windows 8, 7, Vista, and XP are all supported operating systems.

- MINITOOL PARTITION RECOVERY
Standard undelete programs are perfect for recovering a few files, but if you've lost an entire partition then you'll probably benefit from a specialist application like MiniTool Partition Recovery.
The free (a version available ONLY for personal use) program has a wizard-based interface which makes it very straightforward to use.
Point MiniTool Partition Recovery at the problem drive, specify the area to be searched, and it'll scan for the missing partition.
A report will let you know what the program has found, and you can recover the partition in a few seconds.
You don't get a bootable recovery disc here, so if your system partition is damaged then MiniTool Partition Recovery won't help you very much. Otherwise, though, it provides a quick and easy way to locate and restore lost partitions.

- GLARY UNDELETE
Just like the Glary Utilities version, there is also a standalone version of each of its tools. And what do you know, there a separate, standalone undelete tool from Glary itself. The biggest advantages in Glary Undelete include the easy "Folders" view, a Windows Explorer-style view of recoverable files, and a prominent "State" indication for each file, suggesting how likely a successful file recovery will be.
One disadvantage of Glary Undelete is that installation is required before you can use it and it asks you to install a toolbar, which you can of course decline. Aside from those facts, Glary Undelete is top notch.
Glary Undelete can recover files from hard drives and any removable media you might have including memory cards, USB drives, etc.
Glary Undelete is said to work in Windows 7, Vista, and XP, but it probably works fine in Windows 8 and versions older than Windows XP.

- WISE DATA RECOVERY
There are no menus, no complicated options or dialog boxes: all you do is choose a drive, click Scan, and wait as the program locates any deleted files. Select what you need, click Recover, and that's just about it.
The thing is, Wise Data Recovery doesn't seem to work with FAT-based drives, though, recovering nothing from our test USB drive. It's only free for personal use, too. But if you just need something quick and easy to recover files from NTFS drives then it should probably be on your shortlist.

- PANDORA RECOVERY
A more advanced "Surface Scan" is available in Pandora Recovery that should recover more files than the standard search as long as they are of a popular format.
Pandora Recovery will undelete files from hard drives, memory cards, etc. Nearly anything that stores files that you can also connect to your PC should be supported.
Pandora Recovery lists support for Windows Vista, XP, Server 2003, and 2000. Also, Windows 7 are supported by this neat pc application. It is also better to test drive this one on Windows 8 though.
You will need to install Pandora Recovery to your hard drive which is a major reason I haven't ranked it higher than some other file recovery tools.

- PHOTOREC
PhotoRec is an extremely powerful undelete tool with very few restrictions.
It's free for everyone, runs almost everywhere (DOS, Windows, Linux, OS X, more), works with most file systems and device types, uses in-depth knowledge of more than 200 file formats to help recover your data, and the bundled TestDisk can even recover a deleted partition.
There is a complication, though: PhotoRec has an extremely basic DOS-like interface which is sure to intimidate many. This doesn't make the program complicated - it walks you through every step - but the focus here is mostly on functionality, so if you're more interested in ease of use then maybe there another one suitable for you.

- SOFTPERFECT FILE RECOVERY
SoftPerfect File Recovery will undelete files from hard drives, memory cards, etc. Any device on your PC that stores data (except for your CD/DVD drive) should be supported.
SoftPerfect File Recovery supports Windows Vista, XP, Server 2008 & 2003, 2000, NT, ME, 98, and 95. According to SoftPerfect, 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems are also supported.
This one is a small, at about 500KB, a standalone file making the program very portable. Feel free to run File Recovery from a USB drive or floppy disk.

- FREEUNDELETE
FreeUndelete is aging, slow, free for personal use only, and some say that it didn't manage to retrieve anything from a FAT drive. Oooh boy, not a good compliment.
Point the program at an NTFS drive, though, and the story is much different, with FreeUndelete locating all our missing files.
They're presented in a folder structure rather than a single list, making it easy to locate whatever you need, and they can then be restored in a click or two.
So while there are better undelete tools, you might want to keep a copy of FreeUndelete around, just in case your first choice doesn't recover something.

This one is pretty simpler. There are no weird buttons or complicated file recovery confusing stuff - all on an easy to dig GUI display.

If your PC has been trashed so badly that it won't boot at all, then any undelete tools you've installed previously will be useless. But Paragon Rescue Kit Free is different. It comes on an image which you burn to CD, and if disaster strikes then you just boot from the disc and go to work.
The program can recover a lost or deleted partition, for instance. The Boot Corrector can fix common boot problems and may be able to get your working again. But if not, Paragon's File Transfer Wizard helps transfer key files to another local drive, or burn them to CD or DVD. Overall it's a useful tool: grab a copy now, just in case.

CD Recovery Toolbox is designed to recover files from damaged or corrupted optical drive discs - CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, HD DVD, etc.
According to the publisher, CD Recovery Toolbox should help recover files from discs that have been scratched, chipped, or have surface spotting.
One obvious con is the inability of CD Recovery Toolbox to recover files from hard drives or portable media drives. However, the program isn't designed to do that so I haven't held that fact against it.
CD Recovery Toolbox works in Windows Vista, XP, Server 2003, 2000, NT, ME and 98. I tested CD Recovery Toolbox successfully in Windows Vista.

- PC INSPECTOR SMART RECOVERY
This undelete pc app correctly locates the full set of missing files on both FAT and NTFS drives, according to some reviews though. These are clearly presented in a simple folder view, there's also a simple search dialog to help you locate files by name, and the program can then restore them to local or network drives.
Getting to this point may take a while, though, as the interface is a confusing mess of tabs.
PC Inspector File Recovery supports Windows XP, 2000, NT, ME, and 98. Windows Vista is not listed as a supported operating system. I tested File Recovery with Vista and could not get the program to work properly.
I'd recommend trying PC Inspector File Recovery only if another, higher rated file recovery program didn't do the job for you. The not-so-easy-to-use interface, lack of Vista, 7, and 8 support, and long hard drive scan times keep this file recovery app out of the Top 10.

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard will undelete files from hard drives, optical drives, memory cards, and pretty much anything else that Windows sees as a storage device.
Please know that Data Recovery Wizard will only recover a total of 2 GB of data before you'll need to upgrade. I almost didn't include this program because of that limitation but since most situations call for undeleting much less than that, I'll let it slide.
Data Recovery Wizard supports Windows 8, 7, Vista, and XP, as well as Windows Server 2012, 2008, and 2003.

- TESTDISK AND PHOTOREC
If you're a fan of character-based interfaces - such as DOS - and free data recovery, you're going to love TestDisk and its companion utility, PhotoRec (a brother program included in the TestDisk download).
Both free programs run in a DOS box or from a command line and test, report on, fix common disk boot problems, and recover files from damaged hard drives. All this is done at low level, below the operating system.
You don't install TestDisk and PhotoRec. You simply unzip the archive to the location from which you want to run it. This may be a bit confusing for users used to installing, but it makes the apps portable, which is far more important to the techier types who are the intended audience. Simply drag the files around on your flash drive and run them from there. Being portable also makes these utilities suitable for inclusion on boot discs.
Though character-based, TestDisk and PhotoRec are just as easy to use as a GUI-based program. The options are logically laid out, the language readily understandable for anyone comfortable with command-line utilities, and you simply cursor up and down, right and left to navigate. The way the cursor control is facilitated to accommodate two functions per page is actually quite clever.

thanks for google and for those review sites for providing these simple reviews. free stuff is cool if the files are clean of course. i dont want anyone posting rants about getting infected by rogue apps.
so lets be sensible and dont be afraid to think twice or even thrice.
